36 Strawberry Shortcake™ Outfit Pattern Revised, Sewing Kit, Tutorials, and Giveaway!

Introduction

Several years ago I drafted a StrawberryShortcake™ outfit for a 16” doll.    I recently received a customer request to make a Strawberry Shortcake™ pattern for a 20” TRU, then another for a 12” soft sculpture Lullaby.  So I decided to revise the entire outfit.  The new outfit overall is so much better and comes in four sizes: 12” Lullaby, 14” Preemie, 16” Full Size, and 20” TRUs.  Sizes are available individually and also in one pattern.  Digital pattern will come with all four.  Paper patterns will come with a choice of all four or individual.

I wanted the outfit to be as close to the original classic Strawberry Shortcake™ as possible. The pattern includes tights, bloomers, dress, and hat.   The hat brim and crown is lined with interfacing to keep the shape, and then stuffed to give it fullness, with a cute little strawberry on top.   The dress has a faux apron with sleeve ruffles, complete with the iconic green squares and stitched red X’s.  The bloomers are trimmed with eyelet lace.   Dolls are wearing store-bought shoes.  Available now in my etsy shop!

How long did it take me to do this pattern?  Every time I drafted or changed the pattern, cut fabric, sewed, took and edited pictures and videos, or did anything for publishing the pattern, I clocked in.  I did not clock on for the first outfit, though.  It took over 80 hours for 3 outfits, then another 6 to create individual patterns for each size.  So I'm sure I've spent at least 100 hours on this pattern, not to mention the additional 10+ hours getting posts ready on etsy, facebook, my blog, etc.  But it has been fun and so worth it.  The outfits are absolutely adorable.

Sewing Kits Available!

For a limited time, while supplies last, I have sewing kits available in my etsy shop that include almost everything you need to make your own Strawberry Shortcake™ pattern, including the paper pattern and bonus Strawberry Shortcake™ Perfume from Marmol & Son!  This fragrance has been discontinued and can be found on ebay and Mercari for $100.  I will also have the strawberry fabric for the hat in my etsy shop, which has also been discontinued and nearly impossible to find.
