Frankie Friday

It’s Frankie Friday (Freakie). I had so much fun with this.  For Courtney’s eye makeup, I used temporary stickers from Etsy (TOTALLY 80s makeup by DollsUCraft).  I drew her scar on using a black Prismacolor Premier watercolor pencil (tested it first) and wiped it off as soon as I was finished with pictures. I crimped her hair using a crimper on her damp hair with Fibonacci spray-on synthetic wig conditioner. I followed the instructions from a YouTube video by A Thousand Splendid Dolls.  I’ve been on a major American Girl doll kick lately and have been taking tons of pictures of different dolls redressed. It’s been good therapy for me. #89 Pattern Electric Tiers dress for Frankie

My latest pattern is inspired by the new Limited Edition Monster High Frankie Stein American Girl doll.  I visualized this dress the moment Frankie arrived.  It took some time to get it drafted, but I worked on it as diligently as possible, while dealing with illness and an injured leg.   Introduction Sewing pattern for a classic t-shirt and overalls set inspired by vintage Coleco Dino Overalls, featuring a white t-shirt with contrast trim at the neckline and sleeve hems, and overalls with a bib-front and centered pocket, shoulder straps with buckles, decorative side button waist closures, two front hip faux pockets, two back pockets, and straight-cut legs finished with fold-up cuffs. I had a lot of fun with this one.  First I made it out of denim with contrasting thread for the stitching.  It turned out so cute!
