Totally ’80s Sticker Eye Makeup and Earrings for Dolls!
Since Courtney’s world is pure 1980s fun, I wanted to complete her look with a bright, colorful makeup detail that felt true to the era—bold, playful, and easy to switch up. I found the perfect solution: precut, repositionable vinyl stickers! They’re thin, flexible, and easy to remove or reposition, making them perfect for adding that pop of ’80s color without any paint or commitment.
The stickers come in tiny, ready-to-use shapes, so all I had to do was peel them and place them above her eyes. The colors are vibrant and fun, and they really help bring Courtney’s look together. They can be a little tricky to apply, though—the curve doesn’t quite match the shape of doll eyes, so they flare outward a bit. My trick is to place the black liner on top of the colored shadow while the stickers are still on the backing paper, then gently bend the paper and use tweezers to peel both layers off at once. It makes placement much easier and gives a cleaner look.
I bought these stickers on eBay (https://ebay.us/m/X5eHkB). The seller, creativehavenwi, shipped fast, and the product quality is good—definitely worth trying if you want to give your doll a fun, removable makeup accent. They're also available on etsy. They are pretty expensive for what they are, but because I use Fetch rewards, oftentimes I am able to get free things, such as these. After adding the fun sticker eye makeup to Courtney, I wanted to take her ’80s look one step further with miniature lightning bolt earrings. Accessories like these really make a doll’s style pop and help complete the full throwback vibe!

I found the charms at Walmart—they come as one of each color, so I had to purchase two sets to get a matching pair. Then, I used Courtney’s existing earrings from American Girl and simply slipped the stud inside the ring that was already attached to the charms. It was such a simple trick, but it instantly gave her a fun, bold accessory that fits perfectly with her retro style.
These earrings are bright, playful, and totally on-theme for the ’80s. Paired with the sticker eye makeup, they complete Courtney’s look and give her a polished, nostalgic flair.
